Thrilled to offer her community a completely new way of staying lean and strong by creating the EnergyLab along side her glorious partner Maegan Otto. Born and raised in Hamilton, Joelle moved to Calgary in 2007 where she broadened her knowledge of training and coaching thanks to years of studying under international fitness presenters such as Helen Vanderburg, Mindy Mylrea, Fraser Quelch and Jessica Power-Cyr to name a few.  Her Certifications include 200 hr YTT,  TRX, Group Cycle, Bosu, Pilates Infused Core, AFLCA, Personal Trainer Specialist and is a member of the Yoga Alliance. She is a high energy award winning instructor/ business owner that is chomping at the bit to boost your energy, kick your A** and help calm you down through her Athletic style of Yoga. You will experience Joelle's unique style of training inside her EnergyLab and is pumped to offer Cardio, Strength and Flexibility all under one roof.

Hi! I am Maegan and I am admittedly a yoga fanatic and fitness freak. I love fitness and sharing my passion. I incorporate the MindBody connection in all my classes and private sessions.

 

I have Bachelor of Health Sciences with a major in Health Promotion. While studying for my degree I completed certifications as a Fitness Trainer through AFLCA as well as a 200hr Hot Yoga Teacher Training. I have since completed almost 100 more hours of training in fitness and yoga conferences every year as well as obtained my Reiki and crystal healing certificates. I love energy work and healing as we are simply made of energy! Therefore energy work is integral! Experience it for yourself <3

My Specialty Skill is Live Combat and Self Defense. I’ve been very fortunate to study and train with several excellent fighting instructors and I so enjoy teaching our members how to defend themselves.

 My journey started early as I incurred some nasty beatings as a youngster and quickly decided that real world effective self-dense skills were pretty useful. Having trained in Judo-Karate-Boxing and Weapons….I offer our members a rather unique skill set.

My name is Laura, I will kick your butt, but it will be fun! I have had a passion for fitness for most of my adult life,

 growing up in Toronto I started with hot yoga, I became certified as an instructor in 2010 and it was all uphill from

there! I also have a passion for tabata, weight training and spinning.  I got into tabata when I had reached a plateau

and was very bored on a treadmill and it changed everything, it is NOT boring. Join me for a workout!

My introduction to yoga was a retro spiral-bound book that my mom kept in her closet;  a funky lady in a funky outfit

, doing some funky-looking poses.  Years later I attended my first in studio class. 

After ten plus years of practice and 200 hours of Hatha-Vinyasa Teacher Training, I'm still ravenous for more!

An avid interest in health and the human body led me to study Kinesiology at Brock University, where I obtained my

BScKin.  I love the translation from textbook to real life, and over time, appreciate the connection between mind and

body, more and more.

I'm so humbled and grateful to be able to share what I have learned on my journey, and even more excited to learn and grow moving forward.  Namaste!

I am very passionate for healthy and active living. My area of expertise is indoor cycling and trx.

I have been involved in fitness for over 12 years with certifications in spinning, trx, and Fitness

instructor Specialist (FIS).

Motivating others to become active and have that mind body and soul balance in their lifestyle is

what I look forward to every day. In my classes, I strive to effectively use music as a catalyst to

drive success. 
Out of class, you can find me with my family on outdoor adventures and road trips.

My goal is to share and introduce all aspects of yoga practice as a daily health and wellness
maintenance system to individuals and groups.

My experience as a teacher extends over 10 years here in the Hamilton area.

I have also been teaching philosophy, meditation, and ayurveda at 200 hour teacher trainings for the past

4 years.

I teach all types of yoga, I have my Fitness Instructor Specialist and have studied well over 1000 hours

of Yoga Teacher training.
